Our client is seeking a talented and proactive GCP Cloud Security Engineer<\/strong> to join their dedicated Cloud Security Engineering team. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in supporting various critical security initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a proactive mindset, and excellent collaboration abilities, ensuring a successful alignment with the organization’s commitment to robust cloud security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Location:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This is a hybrid position<\/strong>, requiring 3 days per week onsite at one of the following primary locations: Sunrise, FL; Atlanta, GA; Phoenix, AZ; Salt Lake City, UT; Silicon Valley – Palo Alto, CA; or New York City<\/strong>. Remote options may be available for exceptional candidates under specific circumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What’s the Job?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As a GCP Cloud Security Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the security and compliance of our client’s cloud environments. Your key responsibilities will include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • Policy Development & Management:<\/strong> Developing, implementing, and meticulously managing security policies and procedures specifically for GCP (Google Cloud Platform) environments<\/strong>. This ensures strict compliance with internal standards and adherence to industry best practices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Policy-as-Code Implementation:<\/strong> Utilizing Terraform Sentinel<\/strong> to create and enforce policy-as-code<\/strong>. You’ll ensure that all Infrastructure as Code (IaC)<\/strong> initiatives align rigorously with defined security requirements, automating compliance from the ground up.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Security Control Design & Implementation:<\/strong> Designing and implementing comprehensive security controls to protect cloud-based applications and sensitive data, ensuring resilience against evolving threats.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Security Assessments & Risk Mitigation:<\/strong> Conducting regular security assessments and thorough scans to proactively identify potential risks and vulnerabilities. You’ll then work to effectively mitigate these risks, strengthening the overall security posture.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Cloud Service Certification:<\/strong> Participating in the certification process for public cloud provider services. This involves defining secure configuration baselines (“configuration boxes”) before these services are broadly adopted for wider organizational usage.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Compliance & Audit Support:<\/strong> Contributing to audit readiness and ensuring that GCP environments meet various regulatory and compliance mandates.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Collaboration & Guidance:<\/strong> Collaborating with development, operations, and other security teams to embed security best practices throughout the cloud lifecycle.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    What’s Needed?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    We’re looking for a skilled and experienced Cloud Security Engineer with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    • Cloud Security Experience:<\/strong> A minimum of 3 years of dedicated experience in cloud security engineering<\/strong>, with a strong and proven focus on GCP (Google Cloud Platform)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • GCP Expertise:<\/strong> A strong understanding of various GCP services<\/strong> and deep knowledge of security best practices<\/strong> specific to the Google Cloud ecosystem.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Frameworks & Compliance:<\/strong> Experience working with established security frameworks and compliance standards, such as CIS (Center for Internet Security), NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology), and ISO 27001<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Core Security Knowledge:<\/strong> Solid knowledge of fundamental network security principles, Identity and Access Management (IAM)<\/strong> concepts, and encryption<\/strong> technologies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Analytical & Proactive Mindset:<\/strong> Strong analytical abilities to dissect complex problems, a proactive approach to identifying and addressing security challenges, and excellent collaboration skills to work effectively within a team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
