Location & Compensation:
- Location: Lawler, Iowa (This is a 100% Onsite role, requiring your presence at the client’s facility.)
- Pay Range: $65,000 – $90,000 annually
What You Will Accomplish and Experience:
As a Network and Systems Technician, you’ll be a vital extension of our client’s team, directly impacting their business success through robust technology solutions. Your day-to-day will be dynamic and impactful:
- Client Partnership & Prioritization: Serve as a trusted extension of our clients’ teams, deeply aligning with their business goals and consistently prioritizing their success in every technological endeavor. You’ll truly become an indispensable part of their operation.
- Prompt Issue Resolution & Communication: Respond promptly and empathetically to client inquiries, swiftly resolving complex system, application, and network issues. You’ll ensure clear, effective communication throughout the entire resolution process, keeping clients informed and confident.
- Network Infrastructure Engineering: Expertly engineer, implement, and meticulously maintain complex network infrastructures, continuously optimizing them for peak performance, unwavering reliability, and future scalability.
- Server & Desktop System Management: Build, manage, and sustain robust server and desktop systems. This includes precise desktop imaging, ensuring high-availability applications run seamlessly and securely.
- Tailored Technology Solutions: Design and deliver comprehensive connectivity, robust security, seamless communication, and efficient productivity solutions, meticulously tailored to meet the unique and evolving needs of each client.
- Security Enforcement & Documentation: Establish and rigorously enforce critical security measures to safeguard against unauthorized access and cyber threats. You’ll also create and maintain detailed documentation for all network servers, storage devices, hardware, and software configurations, ensuring clarity and traceability.
- Proactive Monitoring System Creation: Design, implement, and maintain sophisticated monitoring systems to proactively identify and address system and network alerts before they escalate into major issues.
- Performance Analysis & Optimization: Continuously monitor and analyze system performance, providing actionable recommendations for strategic capacity planning and optimal resource utilization.
- Professional Documentation & Diagrams: Develop clear, professional supporting documentation and detailed architectural diagrams for innovative technology solutions, ensuring all designs are well-understood and maintainable.
- Specialized Desktop & Server Support: Provide specialized desktop and server support for custom applications and critical network services, encompassing upgrading systems, advanced troubleshooting, and task-specific administration.
- Vendor Collaboration & Solution Development: Collaborate effectively with external vendors to research, develop, and implement highly effective technological solutions, while also expertly resolving complex technical challenges that may arise.
- Hardware & Software Management: Precisely and efficiently install, configure, and repair computer hardware, software, and network systems, ensuring all components are fully functional.
- Hands-on Repair & Replacement: Perform hands-on equipment repair and physical component replacements as needed, getting directly involved to ensure quick fixes and minimal downtime.
- SLA Reporting & Assurance: Generate comprehensive SLA (Service Level Agreement) reports to showcase key performance metrics, ensuring that promises made to clients regarding uptime and support are consistently met and demonstrated.
- Client Training & Empowerment: Deliver engaging and effective training sessions to clients on both new and existing technologies, empowering them to leverage solutions efficiently and independently.
- Dedicated Onsite Partnership: Work directly alongside multiple clients as a trusted partner, maintaining a 100% onsite presence to ensure immediate support and deep understanding of their operations.
- 24/7/365 On-Call Availability: Maintain 24/7/365 on-call availability to ensure continuous client support and rapid issue resolution for any critical incidents that may occur.
Desirable Previous Skills:
We’re looking for a highly skilled and dedicated professional with a strong technical foundation and client-focused approach:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, IS Management, or a related field (preferred). This academic background provides a strong theoretical base.
- Advanced Certifications: Possession of advanced certifications such as CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional), MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer), MCASAE (Microsoft Certified Architect: Solutions Architect Enterprise), VCAP (VMware Certified Advanced Professional), or equivalent high-level technology credentials (preferred). These demonstrate deep expertise.
- Cybersecurity Certifications: Cybersecurity certifications like CompTIA Security+ or similar (preferred), showcasing a commitment to secure IT practices.
- Technical Troubleshooting Expertise: Strong technical expertise with a proven ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and efficiently resolve complex computer system issues.
- Exceptional Communication: Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling you to clearly explain technical concepts to both end-users and fellow helpdesk technicians.
- Networking Foundation: Networking knowledge and skills equivalent to a CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification (required), indicating a solid understanding of fundamental networking principles.
- Active Directory & Exchange: Proficiency in managing Active Directory and hands-on experience with Microsoft Exchange administration.
- Customer Service & Teamwork: Excellent customer service abilities with a strong focus on teamwork and collaborative problem-solving.
- Attention to Detail & Follow-Through: Sharp attention to detail and a steadfast commitment to follow through on tasks, ensuring all issues are thoroughly resolved to client satisfaction.
- Foundational Networking Principles: A solid foundation in basic networking principles with the ability to continuously build on this knowledge as new technologies emerge.
