What’s the Job? Transforming Data into Actionable Insights
As a Data Analyst, you’ll play a pivotal role in transforming raw data into meaningful intelligence that directly supports business objectives within the nutrition industry. You’ll be the bridge between complex datasets and strategic decisions, ensuring clarity and driving efficiency.
- Assist in Generating Reports using Tableau and Power BI: You’ll actively assist in generating critical reports for various business stakeholders. This involves utilizing industry-leading Tableau and Power BI platforms to visualize data. Your work will primarily leverage data extracted from Redzone (or similar operational intelligence platforms), creating intuitive and impactful visual narratives that highlight key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational trends for the manufacturing or supply chain processes.
- Extract, Clean, and Analyze Data from Redzone: A fundamental responsibility will be to extract, meticulously clean, and thoroughly analyze data from Redzone (or analogous manufacturing execution/operational data platforms). This process is crucial for ensuring data accuracy and reliability before it’s used for reporting or insights. You’ll identify inconsistencies, handle missing values, and transform raw data into a structured format suitable for in-depth analysis, directly supporting business objectives related to production efficiency, quality control, or inventory management.
- Develop and Maintain Interactive Dashboards and Reports: You will be instrumental in the creation and ongoing management of data visualization assets. This includes developing and maintaining interactive dashboards and detailed reports in Tableau. Your dashboards will empower users to explore data dynamically, gain self-service insights, and monitor performance in real-time, significantly enhancing the organization’s data literacy and decision-making capabilities.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: You’ll engage in close collaboration with cross-functional teams across the organization. This involves understanding their specific reporting requirements, identifying key questions they need answered, and then working to deliver actionable insights that meet their needs. Your ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders from production, operations, supply chain, and quality control will be crucial for translating data into tangible business improvements.
- Assist in Ad-Hoc Data Analysis and Reporting Tasks: Beyond routine reporting, you will assist in ad-hoc data analysis and reporting tasks as needed. This requires flexibility and a rapid response to urgent business inquiries, providing quick turnaround on data extractions, analyses, and custom reports to support immediate decision-making or investigate unexpected trends.
What’s Needed? Your Qualifications for Data-Driven Success
To excel as a Data Analyst, you’ll need a solid academic foundation, proven hands-on experience with data tools, and a knack for translating numbers into narratives.
- Bachelor’s Degree (or Pursuant) in Relevant Field: You should hold a Bachelor’s degree (or be currently pursuing one) in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline. This academic background provides the foundational knowledge in analytical methodologies, statistical concepts, and computational thinking essential for effective data analysis.
- Proven Experience as a Data Analyst or Similar Role: You must possess proven experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role. This indicates a track record of actively performing data extraction, cleaning, analysis, and reporting in a professional setting, demonstrating your ability to handle real-world datasets and derive meaningful conclusions.
- Proficiency in Tableau and Data Visualization: You are required to have strong proficiency in Tableau and a comprehensive understanding of data visualization techniques. This means you’re skilled not only in using Tableau to build dashboards but also in choosing the right chart types, designing intuitive layouts, and telling a clear story with data to effectively communicate insights to diverse audiences.
- Strong Knowledge of Data Extraction and Manipulation: You must demonstrate strong knowledge of data extraction and manipulation using SQL or similar tools. This includes writing complex queries to retrieve specific data, using SQL for data cleaning and transformation, joining multiple tables, and optimizing queries for performance.
