What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Lead Systems Engineer, your expertise will be crucial in maintaining the health, performance, and security of our client’s cloud infrastructure. Your core responsibilities will encompass:

• Proactive Performance Monitoring & Optimization: You’ll be diligently monitoring and continuously optimizing the performance and stability of the entire AWS Cloud Analytical environment. This isn’t just about reacting to alerts; it’s about proactive oversight, identifying potential bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to ensure maximum efficiency, uptime, and resource utilization.
• Seamless Feature Deployment & Operational Excellence: You’ll play a key role in the end-to-end lifecycle of new feature deployments. This involves meticulously planning, executing, and ensuring smooth, reliable operational processes for all cloud infrastructure components, from initial rollout through ongoing maintenance.
• Rapid Incident Response & Resolution: You will serve as a critical point of contact for customer issues, promptly responding to incidents, conducting thorough root cause analyses, and providing timely and effective resolutions to minimize service disruption and maintain high user satisfaction. This requires sharp diagnostic skills under pressure.
• System Lifecycle Management: You’ll manage essential system maintenance tasks, including overseeing the efficient redeployment of system images and ensuring the timely installation of necessary security patches and software updates across the entire cloud environment. Adherence to change management protocols will be key.
• Robust Security Compliance: A paramount responsibility will be to ensure rigorous and continuous security compliance across the entire cloud infrastructure. This involves adhering strictly to established organizational security policies, industry best practices, and relevant regulatory standards, safeguarding sensitive data and systems.
• Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC): You’ll contribute significantly to the automation efforts, leveraging IaC principles to streamline provisioning, configuration, and management of cloud resources, enhancing both speed and consistency.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: You’ll actively collaborate with development teams, security specialists, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, propose optimal infrastructure solutions, and ensure that architectural designs meet both performance and security objectives.

What’s Needed:

We’re looking for a seasoned professional who brings a robust blend of technical expertise and practical experience:

• Deep AWS Expertise: Demonstrated, hands-on expertise across a broad range of AWS services, with particular strength in EC2 for compute, advanced networking concepts (VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect), diverse storage solutions (S3, EBS, EFS), and comprehensive security components (IAM, Security Groups, NACLs, KMS, GuardDuty).
• Terraform & TFE Mastery: Proven proficiency with Terraform for defining and managing infrastructure as code. Direct experience with TFE (Terraform Enterprise) is highly valued, showcasing experience in collaborative, scalable IaC workflows.
• Enterprise Storage Solutions: Practical, working experience with AWS FSx – NetApp ONTAP storage solutions, indicating an understanding of high-performance, enterprise-grade file storage in the cloud.
• Operating System Acumen: Strong foundational knowledge and hands-on experience with both Windows Server and Linux (specifically RHEL) operating systems in a cloud context, including troubleshooting and administration.
• Analytical Platform Familiarity: Familiarity with H2O and related technologies (e.g., machine learning platforms, data science environments), demonstrating an understanding of the specific infrastructure demands of analytical workloads.
• Problem-Solving & Communication: A track record of strong analytical problem-solving skills, coupled with excellent verbal and written communication, enabling effective interaction with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
