Network Support Analyst (Onsite – Little Rock, AR)

Location: Little Rock, Arkansas (This is an ONSITE ONLY position – applicants seeking remote or C2C arrangements will not be considered.)

Compensation: $20 – $23 per hour

Employment Type: Contract to Hire (with potential for permanent employment)


Role Responsibilities: What You’ll Be Doing

As a Network Support Analyst, you’ll play an integral role in ensuring the continuous availability and optimal performance of cutting-edge network infrastructure. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • System Operational Oversight: You’ll be a key contributor to maintaining the smooth and efficient operation of the organization’s sophisticated network systems. This encompasses a wide array of technologies, including high-speed data networks, robust voice communication systems (VoIP), dynamic video and digital signage solutions, and advanced wireless connectivity platforms. Your proactive engagement will be critical in preventing disruptions and ensuring high reliability across all networked services.
  • Emergency Response and On-Call Availability: This is a high-reliability position that demands a commitment to operational excellence. You’ll be an essential part of the on-call rotation, required to respond to emergency calls outside of standard working hours, which will include nights, weekends, and holidays, as circumstances dictate. Your responsiveness in critical situations is paramount to minimizing downtime and ensuring continuous service.
  • Proactive Monitoring and Mitigation: A significant aspect of this role involves routine monitoring of network performance and health. You’ll actively track key metrics, identify potential issues before they escalate, and implement mitigation tasks to ensure maximum network availability and optimal performance at all times. This proactive approach is fundamental to maintaining a robust and resilient network environment.
  • Direct Collaboration with Network Administrator: You’ll work in close collaboration with the Network Administrator, providing direct assistance across a spectrum of crucial network tasks. This partnership will involve:
    • Core Network Hardware and Software Installations: Assisting with the physical installation and configuration of core network devices (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls) and the deployment and configuration of associated network operating systems and software.
    • System Upgrades: Participating in planned upgrades of network hardware components and software versions, ensuring minimal disruption and successful implementation.
    • Reporting and Documentation: Contributing to the generation of network performance reports, incident logs, and comprehensive documentation of network configurations and changes.
    • Comprehensive System Support: Providing hands-on support for an extensive range of networked technologies, from ensuring the optimal functionality of high-speed Wi-Fi networks and innovative digital signage systems to supporting the integrity of state-of-the-art security monitoring systems. Your role will touch various aspects of the organization’s interconnected environment.

Essential Qualifications: What You’ll Bring to the Table

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess a strong blend of formal education, relevant technical experience, and practical skills. The minimum qualifications include:

  • Educational Background: An Associate’s degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a closely related area. This academic foundation provides the theoretical knowledge necessary for understanding complex network principles.
  • Network Device and System Maintenance Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of direct experience in the maintenance and support of network-connected devices and systems. This experience should demonstrate a practical understanding of how to keep various network components operational and troubleshoot common issues.
  • Voice and Data Communications (VoIP) Expertise: At least three (3) years of dedicated experience in the maintenance and repair of voice and data communications (VoIP) networks. This includes familiarity with VoIP protocols, hardware, and the challenges associated with ensuring high-quality voice services.
  • IP Addressing, TCP/IP, and Windows OS Proficiency: A minimum of two (2) years of experience demonstrating proficiency in:
    • IP Addressing: Understanding and applying IP addressing schemes (IPv4, subnetting, etc.).
    • TCP/IP Protocols: A solid grasp of the TCP/IP suite and its various protocols, essential for network communication.
    • Windows OS on Workstations and Servers: Experience working with and troubleshooting Windows operating systems in both workstation and server environments.
    • SIP and PRI Trunk Protocols: Specific experience with protocols like SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) and and PRI (Primary Rate Interface) trunks, which are critical for voice network connectivity.
  • Telecommunications Equipment Installation and Maintenance: Proven experience in the installation and maintenance of voice and data telecommunications equipment, systems, and servers or related fields. This highlights hands-on experience with the physical and logical setup of communication infrastructure.
  • Equivalent Combinations: The organization values diverse backgrounds and skill sets. Therefore, equivalent combinations of relevant education, industry-recognized certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA, etc.), and practical experience will be thoroughly considered.
