This full-time, permanent position, based onsite in Tokyo, Japan (near Ebisu Station), offers a competitive monthly salary ranging from ¥5,000,000 – ¥10,000,000 per month. This role is crucial for proposing solutions and collecting and organizing client feedback on their innovative Location AI Platform and other products. What You’ll Be Doing: Driving AI Product Development and Client Success

As a System Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the client’s AI product offerings, bridging the gap between customer needs and technical development. Your responsibilities will involve solution proposal, requirements management, project coordination, and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Propose Solutions and Collect/Organize Client Feedback: You will be on the front lines, engaging directly with clients to propose innovative solutions based on the Location AI Platform and other products. Concurrently, you will meticulously collect and organize feedback from clients, understanding their pain points, feature requests, and operational needs. This direct client interaction is crucial for ensuring product development is truly market-driven.
  • Organize Requirements and Incorporate into Product Specifications: You will take client feedback and internal ideas, then diligently organize requirements for product improvements and new feature requests. This involves structuring, prioritizing, and detailing these requirements. Working in close collaboration with UI/UX engineers, you will then incorporate these requirements into comprehensive product specifications, ensuring clarity and alignment for the development team.
  • Prioritize and Manage Schedules for Product Development: You will expertly prioritize and manage schedules for product development and modifications. This involves collaborating closely with the development team to establish realistic timelines, allocate resources effectively, and ensure that development efforts are aligned with strategic goals and client needs. Your project management skills will be key to timely feature delivery.
  • Work with Customer Success and Marketing Teams for Release Notes: You will actively work with the customer success and marketing teams to create clear and compelling release notes for product updates and new features. This ensures that customers are well-informed about new functionalities, improvements, and changes, facilitating smooth adoption and enhancing user experience.
  • Communicate with Relevant Internal Departments: To effectively perform all tasks, you will maintain seamless communication with relevant internal departments as necessary. This includes regular interaction with development, sales, UI/UX, and other teams, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned, informed, and contributing effectively to product enhancement and client satisfaction.
  • Handle Customer Requirements and SaaS Service Operations: You will demonstrate a strong willingness to address issues related to customer requirements, SaaS service operations, and the underlying platform from a business perspective. This holistic view ensures that proposed solutions are not just technically sound but also align with business realities and operational needs.

What You’ll Bring: Essential Qualifications for a System Engineer in Japan

To excel as a System Engineer in this role, you’ll need a blend of software development experience, project management skills, cloud platform familiarity, and strong communication abilities in a bilingual environment.

  • Software Development/SIer Experience (3+ years): You must have at least 3 years of experience in software development and/or as a Systems Integrator (SIer). This demonstrates your practical understanding of the software development lifecycle and how to integrate diverse systems.
  • Experience as a Systems Engineer, Sales Engineer, or Project Manager: You have proven experience as a systems engineer, sales engineer, or project manager. This includes experience defining requirements and managing processes as a project member, demonstrating a foundational understanding of project delivery and stakeholder engagement.
  • Cloud Computing Platforms Experience: You have hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS (Amazon Web Services), GCP (Google Cloud Platform), or others. This indicates your ability to work with scalable, cloud-native solutions and understand their architectural implications.
  • Technical Communication in Simple English: You are able to communicate technical requirements and their background in simple English to the development team. This is crucial for clear and concise instruction, especially when collaborating with international development teams.
  • Willingness to Address Business Issues: You possess a strong willingness to address issues related to customer requirements, SaaS service operations, and the underlying platform from a business perspective. This holistic view ensures that proposed solutions are not just technically sound but also align with business realities and operational needs.
  • Business Level Japanese Language Proficiency: You must possess Business Level Japanese language proficiency. If you do not speak Japanese, proficiency in English is required. This ensures seamless communication within the team and with local clients in Japan.
  • Bachelor’s Degree: A Bachelor’s degree holder in the field of information and technology, or other related majors, is required. This academic foundation provides essential theoretical knowledge for IT and systems engineering.

Employment Details: Your Compensation and Work-Life Balance in Tokyo

This is a Permanent employee (Full Time) position with a competitive compensation package and flexible working arrangements.

  • Location: Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan (Closest Station: Ebisu (Yamanote line, Tokyo)).
  • Annual Salary: ¥5,000,000 – ¥10,000,000 (assumed annual salary, with a monthly salary of ¥330,000 – ¥660,000). Salary is negotiable based on experience and skills.
  • Working Hours: Flextime system with a core time from 10:30 AM – 3:30 PM. The start time is 6:00 AM – 10:30 AM, and the end time is 3:30 PM – 8:30 PM. You’ll work an 8-hour day with a 60-minute break.
  • Average Overtime: Approximately 20 hours per month, indicating a commitment to work-life balance.

  • Commuting Allowance: Up to ¥40,000 per month.
  • Holidays & Vacation Days:
    • 128 days per year.
